Adrian Shephard, the protagonist

Corporal Adrian Shephard is a marine in the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, (H.E.C.U.) sent to silence the Black Mesa Research Facility. However his osprey 'Goose 7' was shot down and he finds that he's the sole survivor of his squad. With his sergeant dying before he could give orders, Shepherd does not know the real reason he was sent to the facility and now attempts to help the Black Mesa employees, and fellow soldiers alike, escape from Black Mesa, and on the way encountering Xenians, Race X, and Black Operations.

Series Personality

Though the episode description describes him as a "cowardly individual", Shephard does not seem to be afraid of enemies as one would think, and actually handles the situation more calmly and rationally than most other characters. This could be attributed to his military training.

Episodes

Episode 1

The series begins with Adrian waking up inside the osprey Goose 7 as his buddies Pvt. Tower and Jackson take jabs at each other, Adrian disapproving of their crude jokes. Adrian not wanting to hear his cohort's idiocy decides to fall back asleep but is eventually woken up as another soldier questions why their orders have been kept from them. Tower agrees before being yelled at by their commanding officer who states they will receive orders when they reach the LZ to which Tower acquiesces. Suddenly, a mysterious manta-ray like spacecraft flies past Goose 7 catching Adrian's attention, he tried to tell his comrades but was interrupted by a manta-ray floating over another osprey Goose 3 and destroying it with a concentrated beam of energy. Adrian panicked as another manta-ray began to use it's beam on his osprey, causing his commanding officer to fall out of the VTOL, and causing it to crash. Adrian suddenly woke up in the middle of a battle between the survivors of the crash and some Xenians, he frantically ran around while yelling in utter confusion about his situation before a mortar shell landed behind him. He briefly regained consciousness while lying in a hallway, mumbling "Ow..ugh..my tummy hurts." before losing consciousness once again.

A day later, he regained consciousness in the middle of a medical lab where a scientist tried to provide CPR to a couple of marines. To be added. To be added. To be added.

As he pushed the chair, Shephard noticed a pipe wrench lying next to a toolbox and an open wire and decided to take it, commenting that despite not being an electrician he was sure you don't use a pipe wrench to fix electrical wires. He walked into the next room which was filled with errant industrial cutting lasers. He attempted to turn off the laser by destroying the machine's control panel to no effect before remembering the chair that he had left behind, Adrian crawled back to the hallway where he left it and tried to push the chair past the open wire but accidently stood too close to it and was electrocuted, taking 12 of his 100 health points. He moved the chair next to the staircase and promptly climbed it before noticing the damage that the wire caused him and promptly decided to take a breather.

Series Trivia

  • Shephard cannot whistle.
  • Shephard never goes to barbecues.
  • Shephard watches the TV show House.
  • Everyone who follows Shephard always seems to die.
  • He has three pet aliens named Sparky, Gill and Barney (Ironically not connected to him meeting the actual Black Mesa Security Guard "Barney").
  • Shephard hates burnt pancakes and Whack-A-Mole.
  • Shephard cannot play the guitar (According to him stating that he'll "Flee to Mexico and learn how to play the guitar from a mysterious gunman").
  • Cyh Scaevola (voice of Chell in the Master Minds' Chell's Mind and the future wife of Ian Riley) made a guest voice appearance as the Black Ops Assassin named "Lydia".
  • Ian Riley of Barney's Mind made a guest voice appearance as Barney the Black Mesa Security Guard during Episode 12. This was also in conjunction with Episode 15 - Part 2 of Barney's Mind. The episodes intertwine with both of their characters, being Barney and Shephard, interacting to figure out how to get Shephard out of Gordon Freeman's locker (With some references to Gordon with the Anti-Depressants).
  • Shephard can be faintly heard in Episode 61 of Freeman's Mind, in the background shouting "Backrubs!" rather than what he yelled out in Shephard's Mind ("Get back here you big orange f*ck!"). This was mainly due to Ross from Freeman's Mind wanting the ending not to be too predictable as well as want to assure that Freeman possibly couldn't hear Shephard due to the amount of noise in the room.
